Natural Virtuality, Video Installation, 2008
The installation is composed of a space from which, via two mirrors, two further parallel virtual spaces branch out. Starting in the central chamber, a giraffe lopes along on the spot, its mirrored images stretching into infinity. A graceful army that, in its abstract elegance, calls to mind the early days of computer graphics and the absence of technological progress for Africa’s poorest populations. Complemented by the muffled, monotonous drone of a CPU fan.
